KUTV CBS 2 Interview

The members of the BFS Board of Directors Nataliya Miller and Matt Lambert have recently been interviewed by KUTV CBS 2 channel about the impacts our Foundation has on Ukrainian children with SMA.

The story aired in “Eye on Utah” March 20 episode and featured the amazing case of Emma Cherevashenko with SMA Type 2 from Bucha who was among the most vulnerable refugee kids we had ever received an application from.

Emma’s mom, Tatyana, was six months’ pregnant when Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022. She fled with her son to Poland while her husband stayed behind to fight. Scared and lonely, with a weakening kid in her hands, Tatyana luckily came across BFS, and Emma eventually received her Zolgensma injection.
