As you all know, BFS is currently focusing all its efforts on the Ukrainian children with rare diseases who got caught in the devastation and horror of Russian invasion.

In January-June 2023, our Medical Support Program supplied crucial medical equipment and medications, as well as covered medical treatment and rehabilitation expenses for 37 families with 39 children with spinal muscular atrophy, cystic fibrosis, Down syndrome, Canavan disease, Wolf-Hirschhorn syndrome, multiple epiphyseal dysplasia, and sialidosis among other inheritable diseases.

Thus, in particular, Yukhym Vykhopen with tuberous sclerosis received the so much needed rehabilitation at the Olinek Center in Poland. We express our enormous gratitude to the professionals working with our patients, you are the best.

Overall, BFS has already covered 19 rehabilitation courses this year. 20 new applications are in progress, and 116 are waiting for funding.
